Is there room for circularity in the Polish fashion industry?

Case study of the first Polish initiative combining second-hand fabric fairs and circular fashion with a competition and a discussion panel.

The textile and clothing industry is one of the key sectors of the economy where a new model of circular production and consumption should be promoted. The European Commission has set itself the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050 by reducing emissions, optimising processes and eliminating waste. This aim requires an urgent change of paradigm to make the industry sustainable. In accordance with the assumptions of the green transformation, the first initiative in Poland, the Circular Tex Hub, responded to the challenge by organising a circular fashion fair on 22 May 2022, which included second-hand textiles combined with a discussion panel of experts and a nationwide competition CTH Awards: Waste Changer for Designers.
